Inside the UH-60 Flight Control Program

Randall Strauss March 28, 2025 6 min read

A look at how TEK Precision manufactures life-limited flight control components for the Black Hawk family — and why traceability is everything.

The UH-60 Black Hawk has been in continuous service since the late 1970s. Its longevity is a testament to its design — and to the supplier base that keeps every airframe airworthy.

Life-Limited Components

TEK manufactures dozens of flight-safety-critical, life-limited parts that govern the rotor head and flight control system. Each part is tracked from raw bar stock to delivery, with full material certification, process records, and inspection data.

Why It Matters

When a part is life-limited, the consequences of a counterfeit or out-of-spec component are catastrophic. TEK's quality system exists specifically to ensure that never happens.
