Manufacturing Housings, Bodies and Manifolds
Housings, bodies and manifolds carry internal passages, sealing surfaces and mounting interfaces that must hold position relative to one another, which makes them well suited to multi-axis machining in a single setup. TEK Precision operates a Hitachi Seiki HC 400 horizontal machining centre, an Okuma MC-500H horizontal centre, a Compumill HMC-410, a Comet three-axis CNC vertical milling centre with a 58 by 28.5 by 24.5 inch envelope and 20 horsepower, and two Fadal VMC3016 vertical centres.
Sealing surfaces are finish-ground and verified by profilometer. Internal bores are honed to size where the drawing requires it. Full dimensional verification is performed on a Brown and Sharpe CMM Model 7.6.3 Excel with a 42 by 42 by 18 inch envelope, supported by a J&L optical comparator with 24-inch bed and 16-inch screen at 0 to 50 power.
Where a housing forms part of a hydraulic assembly, manifold test fixturing is available for production testing prior to shipment.
