Production combines multi-axis turning with cylindrical grinding on three Tschudin cylindrical grinders offering 20 by 8 inch capacity and resolution to 0.000002 inches.
Where a liner requires honing to final bore size, work moves to Sunnen vertical or horizontal honing equipment. Bore verification uses Sunnen dial bore gauges across the 0.150 to 6.000 inch range, with wall thickness confirmed by digital ultrasonic thickness gauge where geometry prevents direct measurement. Dimensional inspection is performed on a Brown and Sharpe CMM Model 7.6.3 Excel with a 42 by 42 by 18 inch envelope.
Where the drawing calls for it, TEK performs thermal stress relief in-house per SS8407 and SS8669, using a Precision Quincy oven of 11.3 cubic feet or a Blue M oven of 8 cubic feet.
