Manufacturing Links and Linkage Assemblies
Links and linkage assemblies form part of the flight control path on rotorcraft platforms, transmitting pilot and actuator inputs to the rotor system. TEK Precision has manufactured flight control and transmission components since the mid-1990s, when the business focus shifted toward this class of work for Sikorsky rotorcraft.
Production combines multi-axis milling on machining centres including a Hitachi Seiki HC 400 horizontal centre, an Okuma MC-500H, and Fadal VMC3016 vertical centres, with turning operations for cylindrical features. Bushing and bearing installation is performed under documented process control.
Where a link assembly requires structural adhesive bonding, TEK is approved to Sikorsky specification SS8669 for all classes of structural adhesive bonding. Bonding is performed in an environmentally controlled room by certified operators, with adhesive test panels tensile tested in-house per SS8669 on an Instron tensile tester.
