Manufacturing Fittings, Angles and Brackets
Fittings, angles and brackets provide the structural and fluid interfaces between major assemblies, which makes hole position and surface flatness the controlling characteristics. TEK Precision machines these on vertical and horizontal machining centres, with ten Bridgeport milling machines — three fitted with digital readout — available for secondary operations and lower-volume work.
Position verification is performed on a Brown and Sharpe CMM, with flatness checked against lab-grade surface plates and angular features verified using precision angle plates, vee-blocks and parallels. Threaded features are inspected under the Johnson thread gaging system, qualified for Method "C" and safety-critical applications.
Where a fitting requires structural adhesive bonding, TEK holds Sikorsky SS8669 approval for all classes of bonding, performed in an environmentally controlled room by certified operators with in-house tensile testing of adhesive test panels.
