Manufacturing Bearing Components and Housings
Bearing components and bearing housings require concentricity and bore accuracy sufficient to preserve the bearing's designed running clearance across the operating temperature range. TEK Precision machines housings on multi-axis milling and turning equipment, with bore finishing performed by Sunnen honing to achieve the required size and surface finish.
Bore verification uses Sunnen dial bore gauges across 0.150 to 6.000 inches, backed by intra-micrometers covering hole sizes from 0.35 to 3.500 and a range of Deltronic and Meyers gauge pins. Where a bearing is pressed into a housing, the operation is performed on Sunnen hydraulic presses rated to 10,000 pounds under documented process control.
Full dimensional inspection is performed on a Brown and Sharpe CMM Model 7.6.3 Excel. All measuring and test equipment is calibrated on a documented schedule with traceability to NIST, under a quality organisation holding independent inspection authority.
